Our Philosophy

The Traylor-Knowles Cnidarian Immunity lab pushes the boundaries of immunity research in order to make a lasting impact on coral reef conservation and evolutionary biology.  We are guided by 5 core principles:

  1. We promote independent thinking as a key to individual growth.

  2. We believe exactitude provides faster access to solutions.

  3. We extensively plan our work, to ensure our actions are effective.

  4. We believe being receptive to interdisciplinary research is the source of progress, discovery, and innovation.

  5. We know that we do not have time to waste in our journey to make an impact.
